Should they stay or should they go?

Are you getting conversions from your website? That is data. If you are getting visitors to your website but they are leaving your page quickly or aren't taking any action then you need to look at your webpage copy. Is your messaging clear?

The first page that people visit on your website is the homepage. It has an important job - it will help visitors decide to stay on your site or go. No pressure.

What is the first thing visitors see? The top part of your homepage, also known as "above the fold". This is the part that shows before visitors scroll down. Here you have just seconds to help visitors decide if they want to stay and learn more, or go because they didn't find what they need.

Immediately visitors should know what you do and the transformation you provide. Having strong messaging here is vital. My best advice is to try out different sentences and ask yourself:

  1. Is what I do clear?
  2. What is the transformation I provide?
  3. Who do I serve?

Don't complicate it. Simple is best. You know what you do and what that service provides for others.

A few more tips:

  • Don't forget to include your keyword.
  • Ask a fellow entrepreneur to take a look and give you feedback.
  • Update it and look at the data.

Your website shouldn't be a static thing that you set up and forget. It is your 24-hour salesperson. Go take a look at your above-the-fold section. Is your messaging clear?
