Hi Reader,
One of my LinkedIn strategies is to engage with the content of others by commenting on their posts. This serves three purposes:
- I am building relationships by engaging with someone's content consistently.
- Commenting, reposting, and sharing hold the most weight when it comes to the algorithm. You want people to do this with your posts so you get greater impressions. It's a quid pro quo if you will.
- Commenting gives you visibility and will bring people to your profile to follow or connect with you
This is time-consuming when you have to go to each person's profile to see if they have new posts. I was terrified that they would see the "Sophia Vega viewed your profile" notices ALL THE TIME and think I was a stalker.
I love the content on LinkedIn because it is full of gems. The solution to my problem was a gem that Danny DelVecchio shared - How to create custom feeds. A custom feed shows you the most recent posts of the people you put on a list.
Let me give you an example of a feed: I call it my LinkedIn Peeps (some of you may be on this list). On this list are fellow business owners whose content I love, and who I want to support.
Other feeds are influencers in organic digital marketing and SEO, influencers on LinkedIn, potential clients, existing clients... Having these custom feeds is a major time saver and keeps you from looking like a stalker.
So how do you make these feeds? Here is where you can choose your adventure.

How to Create a Custom Feed
- Go to your LinkedIn account and put the cursor into the search bar at the top. Hit return. This will open up a search window.
- Select Post and then All Filters
3. Click to Sort by Latest and for Date Posted select. Past 24 hours
4. Scroll down until you see From member.
Here you will type the name of the person you want to have on this feed. You can add as many as you want. I like to keep it to 10 at most because it can be overwhelming. *Remember these are people you want to engage with daily. **Building brand awareness and nurturing an audience is hard work.
5. Once you have everyone you want on the list you will hit enter and get a custom feed.
6. To keep this feed you need to save it as a bookmark. Name it. I save this bookmark to a folder that I have on my bookmark bar labeled LinkedIn. All my feeds are in there.
This is the MOST useful LinkedIn hack that I know!
You know what to do: create yourself a custom feed.
